The inland of the Costa Blanca is a region which attracts more and more tourists every year. Especially the region in between Bocairent, Ontinyent en Alcoy, which is called El Comtat, is being discovered by many foreigners for its beautifull mountains, small villages and rich culture. The region is easy accesible through many highways. Benidorm, Valencia and Alicante are a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive. The beautiful mountain village Guadalest with the mountain lake is a half hour drive. The route from Altea through Callosa dŽen Sarria, Guadalest, Benifato, Benimantell, Confrides and finally Alcoy is breathtaking with its views of the mountaintops and valleys. Especially in spring, when the almond trees are in bloom, this drive is worthwhile.
